About Us

Founded in 2020 by professional drummer and teacher Tom (BA Hons, Mmus) after years of teaching and proffesional gigging experience, Newcastle School of Drums teaches over 100 students a week of all ages and abilities from a state-of-the-art soundproofed studio in Newcastle Upon Tyne (NE6). The studio benefits from free parking, a waiting area and tonnes of high-quality music equipment. Lessons can be student-led led. What we offer

first-class facilities

Lessons are taught from our state of the art soundproof studio. Each teaching room has 2 kits to ensure maximum time on the kit, as well as PA systems and a tonne of other learning tools.

Tailored 1-2-1 drum tuition

Bespoke and tailored 1-2-1 drum tuition from our expert tutors, all with BA Hons music degrees plus a wealth of teaching and gigging experience.

showcases and workshops

Our yearly showcases give those students who want the chance to perform an opportunity to showcase the skills they have learnt in some of Newcastle’s most iconic music venues (most recently The Cluny and Gosforth Civic Theatre). This is equally as useful and inspiring for those in attendance as for those who play.

a support network like no other

Learning an instrument can feel like a lonely place, so we offer WhatsApp group support, a members log in (coming soon), monthly blog posts and newsletters to create more of a community.
